Megan Rapinoe & Sue Bird

#RelationshipGoals appears to be a popular hashtag these days, and if there’s any couple that seems to represent that now, it’s Megan Rapinoe and her fiancée, basketball legend Sue Bird.

Rapinoe is one of the most well-known and accomplished soccer players of all time. She has two World Cup credits under her belt and an Olympic gold medal to her name. Bird, on the other hand, is equally successful. She, too, is one of the best basketball players of all time, having won many championships and Olympic gold medals. They’re also outspoken activists in the Black Lives Matter and Say Her Name movements, respectively. They’ve been by each other’s sides for many of these accomplishments, both on and off the field. Although both athletes are from Seattle and live there, they had never met until a brief encounter at a press event for the 2016 Summer Olympics, and in 2017, the couple made their romance public. Rapinoe and Bird became the first openly gay pair to be featured in ESPN The Magazine’s legendary “Body Issue” the following year.
