Whenever you see Billy Porter on the red carpet, your eyes will most likely be drawn to his fantastic outfit, followed by a fast pan to his husband, Adam Porter-Smith. Since they met back in 2009, Smith has been a significant part of Porter’s path, but he is much more than just a celebrity’s lesser-known spouse. He’s into the investment side and co-owns a high-end eyewear company.

Smith and his husband first met at a dinner with mutual friends in February 2009, and it was through that meeting that they formed a close connection that has lasted to this day. Although the couple parted in 2010, they remained close friends, and their bond was always present. However, Smith’s birthday in 2015 turned out to be the ideal time for him to propose. Porter and Smith decided to marry shortly after the proposal. There’s at least one thing the newlyweds aren’t expecting as they look forward to the remainder of their lives together, although they’ll confront some unknowns.
