Orlando Cruz is quite known in the world of boxing for being the very first openly gay boxer. He has been noted for his quick hands and feet, which is worthy of his spot as number four among featherweights. In addition, he has been a firm advocate of LGBT rights in the world of boxing. Outside of his career, Cruz has been romantically involved with Jose Manuel Colon for some time. While their first meeting cannot be pinpointed, what is certain is that by 2012, they already got engaged, which was featured in a video shared on Facebook. This was also around the time Cruz came out as gay.

In 2013, the two tied the knot in New York’s Central Park, with their friends and family in attendance. Since then, the two have lived quite happily together. Despite the initial difficulties they faced, it seems that they made an investment to keep the bond between them strong.
