Xavier Bettel & Gauthier Destenay

By the looks of it, Xavier Bettel was already quite enthusiastic about politics at a young age. Having studied several laws throughout his years in school, including maritime and canon law, he eventually graduated with a master’s degree in Public and European Law, Political Science, and Public Law. After some time working as a talk show host, he finally found his way to the government. Since 2013, he has served as Luxembourg’s Prime Minister.

Outside work, Bettel spends quality downtime with his husband, Gauthier Destenay. While the two have been in a civil union since 2010, the couple finally officially married in 2014. With that said, Destenay is an architect, working as an associate for a local firm since 2013. Although his job is often away from the spotlight, he has had the chance to accompany the prime minister in numerous events through the years. Other than that, though, this couple prefers to live a low-key lifestyle.
