Lily Tomlin & Jane Wagner

While celebrities often have millions – even billions – of fans around the world, it’s safe to say their number-supporters would always be the people closest to them, their friends and family. For Lily Tomlin, that credit undoubtedly goes to her then-partner-now-wife Jane Wagner.

Starting her career as a stand-up comic, Tomlin also took some time performing on stage productions. Well, after a couple more gigs, she had the chance to meet her future wife. Along with the two developing a strong bond right from the get-go, the couple also wasted no time working on a couple of projects together. One of the earlier collaborations this actress-writer duo had was Tomlin’s comedy album, And That’s The Truth. A few years later, Wagner wrote a stage production titled The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, starring her wife. The show was a smash hit and even won the actress a Tony Award. It just goes to show that many of the best team efforts are those made with loved ones.
