Virginia Woolf & Vita Sackville-West
Writing books and other forms of literature can be quite an investment. Besides being a line of work that can help earn an author some fortune, it also gives them a status akin to that of a celebrity. Well, such was the case for Virginia Woolf and her partner, fellow author Vita Sackville-West.
The two first met during a dinner they both attended. From that point onward, their relationship developed until it became romantic. With that said, the two were undoubtedly talented writers in their own right. Woolf wrote numerous works throughout her career, with the most notable titles being Mrs Dalloway, To the Lighthouse, and of course, Orlando. The titular hero in the latter-mentioned book was based on her partner. Meanwhile, Sackville-West made 13 novels, one of which was an award-winning epic titled The Land. Although they ultimately ended their relationship after almost a decade, the two late authors remained friends.
