MC Hammer – 58 – Entrepurner & Lecturer
MC Hammer’s career became well-known in the late 1980s and lasted until the early 1990s. His album Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘Em was the first credited recording to open people into the world of rap music. To establish his own record label, Hammer borrowed money from former star players Mike Davis and Dwayne Murphy. He named it Bust It Productions and released two of his own albums. Both of them sold well to the public and earned him a contract with Capitol Records.
However, in the later years in the ‘90s, he eventually faced several financial difficulties which led him to bankruptcy. Real name Stanley Kirk Burrell, he was an embodiment of the phrase rags-to-riches but eventually came back to rags. However, he managed to get his life back together. Sooner, he dedicated his time to ministries, produced his own record label, and focused on entrepreneurship.
