Agnetha Fältskog – 71

Agnetha Fältskog will always be known as one-fourth of ABBA, despite having created quite the career for herself as a solo singer in Sweden. She sang lead on several of the band’s biggest singles, including SOS and Take a Chance on Me. She also shared lead vocals on Waterloo, contributing to the group’s signature four-part harmony.

ABBA was hugely successful in Europe, Australia, and Latin America for much of the 1970s, with the United States joining in the latter half of the decade. The group reached its pinnacle with their number 1 hit Dancing Queen. To her credit, Fältskog also enjoyed solo stardom in Europe and embarked on a self-imposed break in 1988. She returned to the stage with My Colouring Book, which reached the top of the European charts. She quickly resurfaced in the public limelight through reunions with her former bandmates while mining hit singles in the 2000s. Fältskog’s efforts with ABBA made her one of the reigning queens of 1970s pop.
