Al Green – 74 – Missionary
At a young age, Al Green already had a passion for music. His first gig was when he was around ten years old, playing alongside his brothers in the group appropriately called the Greene Brothers. After a while, he formed his own band called Al Greene & the Soul Mates, though their only notable song is R&B record Back Up Train.
After bidding farewell to his Soul Mates members, Al pursued a solo career and has since released many hit tracks such as Take Me to the River, Tired of Being Alone, I’m Still in Love with You, and Let’s Stay Together. For all the investments he made in the music industry, the singer-songwriter eventually received the honor of becoming a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, among other awards. Since then, Al has lived a relatively low-profile life away from the spotlight.
