Angela Bassett & Courtney B. Vance – 14 Years

We may know her as the queen of biopics since Angela Bassett did a tremendous job portraying Tina Turner, Katherine Jackson, and Betty Shabazz in films. The actress’s career has reached considerable heights since its launch in the mid-’80s. Since then, Bassett has upscaled her credit score in Hollywood and won numerous accolades. Outside of acting, she is a notable producer, director, and activist.

Bassett met Courtney B. Vance while attending the Yale School of Drama. The two remained friends for years, but they didn’t level up their relationship for over a decade. They went on their first date in 1994, welcomed their twins in January 2006 via surrogate, and tied the knot in 2007. In the years that came, the couple has collaborated on a few projects, including writing a book. “He makes me a better person. He is a great support person,” Bassett said of her husband.
