Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson – 23 Years

Tom met Rita in the early 1980s when he acted in the Bosom Buddies ABC sitcom. Rita appeared in a video dating episode. Then they co-starred (along with John Candy) in the film Volunteers. At the time, Tom was already married to his college sweetheart, Samantha Lewes— but GQ credits Tom saying that he and Rita felt an immediate spark.

While Tom mentioned his immediate chemistry with Rita, he also said that his first marriage had already been broken. His divorce was not finalized until 1987, but by December 1986, he and Rita had brought their relationship to the public. The couple happily looked to the future and got married on April 30, 1988. At the beginning of 2020, the pair had contracted an illness, yet they defeated the disease together. Now, more than 30 years since, since they were married, they’re still going strong.
