It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (Renewed)

With 15 seasons, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is the longest-running sitcom in history. It broke the previous record held by The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, which aired from 1952 to 1966. The FX show follows a group of egocentric people named Charlie, Dennis, Mac, Dee, and Frank as they deal with various issues.

FX had already planned to invest in producing It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia until the show’s 18th season in 2020. According to the schedule, the sitcom’s 16th season will premiere on December 21, 2022. However, when Charlie Day, the series’ actor, writer, and director, recently appeared on the podcast Smartless, he stated that the 16th season could be the show’s final. The future remains uncertain, and Day went on to say that the show’s creators and writers are, to some degree, running out of ideas. After all, they’ve already aired 15 seasons.
