Messiah (Canceled)

It goes without saying that shows investigating the belief systems of various religions can be both fascinating and terrifying at the same time. With generations of unanswered questions in the Catholic faith, Netflix’s Messiah offers a fresh take on Jesus Christ’s second coming. The show focuses, to some degree, on the modern world’s reaction to the return of the Messiah, whose appearance was documented in the Bible several generations ago. The CIA was drawn to his sudden appearance and various “miracles.”

Despite receiving high marks from viewers, Messiah was canceled after one season. Netflix did not issue an official statement, but many fans assumed that the cancellation was due to the numerous restrictions imposed by the coronavirus situation. Of course, those of us who followed the show, are, to some degree, sad about the turn of events.
