Altered Carbon (Canceled)

Altered Carbon is set in a world where technology is at its pinnacle and where human consciousness can be transferred to another body. It piqued the interest of viewers from all over the world. The plot revolves around a former soldier, Takeshi Kovacs, who becomes an investigator and is released from prison in order to solve a murder case in the futuristic metropolis of Bay City in the year 2384.

Despite receiving generally positive reviews, the eight-episode cyberpunk Season 2 did not provide enough satisfaction to persuade the streaming service Netflix to renew. The series was a spin-off of the eponymous anime film, with new elements of the story active in the plot development. Its first season was based on Richard Morgan’s 2002 novel of the same name, but it featured several major changes for the characters and organizations. Previously, it was assumed that the cancellation was due to the pandemic, but Netflix weighed viewership against the renewal cost, prioritizing their investments.
