Astronomy Club: The Sketch Show (Canceled)

A good laugh can, to some degree, always brighten the mood, especially after a long day, and what better way to unwind than by watching Astronomy Club: The Sketch Show? The television series is the first all-black team of the improv and sketch comedy group Upright Citizens Brigade, dealing with a variety of issues centered on the black experience, race relations, and attitudes toward African Americans in the media and cinema in particular.

The show received unanimous critical acclaim and a perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite this, the streaming service Netflix has canceled the renewal for the second season. As soon as the cancellation was announced, a 6,000-signature petition to save the show appeared on Change.org. The sketch comedy depicts Astronomy Club members living together in a fictitious reality show, complete with Big Brother-style confessionals in which cast members talk in front of the camera.
