Over the years, countless sitcoms have amused us with their comedic storylines, with memorable ones like How I Met Your Mother, The Office, The Big Bang Theory, and Friends, to mention a few. The entertainment industry is continuing to produce such genres with the addition of Ashley Garcia: Genius in Love, which is also known as The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia. It premiered via the streaming platform Netflix in February 2020.

However, after a 15-episode run, the series ended with a Christmas special episode aired on December 9, that year. Several factors were thought to be at play when the streaming platform decided to cancel the series. One of them was Netflix’s shift away from multi-camera sitcoms, which are typically shot on fixed sets in front of studio audiences, such as The Big Bang Theory and Friends. They perhaps redirected their investments to other strategies.
