Cobra Kai (Renewed)

Originally produced by YouTube, Cobra Kai is a continuation of the original The Karate Kid franchise, which had proliferated during the 1980-1990 era. The series followed Johnny Lawrence after 34 years of losing in the 1984 All-Valley Karate Tournament. Now in his 50s, after having gone through unimaginable trauma, depression, and alcoholism, he finds himself in a situation where he has to use his karate skills to defend his new teenage neighbor, Miguel, from bullies. He subsequently agreed to train Miguel and reopen the Cobra Kai karate dojo as a chance to redeem himself.

The show reached season three before YouTube decided to end the production. Hearing the cries of the fans, Netflix made investments and bought the rights. Season four became available for streaming back in December 2021.
