Homeland (Ended)

Homeland is a spy thriller based on the Israeli television show Prisoners of War. Gideon Raff created it, and the first season premiered in October of 2011. To the creators’ and stars’ credit, the series was a huge success, lasting eight seasons. It followed Claire Danes’ character, Carrie Mathison, a CIA officer, as she battled international terrorists. Damian Lewis, Morena Baccarin, Jackson Pace, and David Harewood also appeared on the show.

Homeland not only received high ratings across the board, but it also won eight Primetime Emmys. Showtime announced in 2019 that season eight of Homeland would be the series’ final season. According to the show’s creators, the show was originally planned to run for only eight seasons. The show ended, but it was a satisfactory ending nonetheless.
