Away (Canceled)

It was quite a surprise that Netflix canceled the science-fiction drama, Away. According to reports, the Hilary Swank show was, to some degree, one of the most promising new series the streaming service had in a while. Its entire ten episodes were nail-biting, and everyone wants to know what will be next for Emma Green (Hilary Swank) and her team. After she and her group landed safely on Mars –thankfully, they didn’t run out of gas—the show just abruptly ended.

Unfortunately, fans won’t know what happens next because of the sudden cancellation. Now, the big question is why Netflix canceled the show? Esquire noted it might have something to do with the show’s costly production. A single episode costs $6 million to complete, making it, pound-for-pound, the most expensive Netflix show of all time. Since the show demanded a big budget, it may have been too much for the streaming service to handle.
