The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (Canceled)

After just one season, Netflix canceled The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. In case fans don’t know, this fantasy series is a prequel to the original 1982 film, 39 years in the making. Knowing fans badly want to know how its story will officially conclude, the show’s executive producer Lisa Henson promises to look for ways to tell it in the future.

The Dark Crystal features a combination of classic, Henson-brand puppetry and modern effects technology. It tells the story of the dying Thra world, where the Crystal of Truth lies–a source of untold power but damaged by the evil Skeksis to a worsening degree. However, when three Gelfling learn of the horrific truth behind the Skeksis’ power, a new adventure begins, along with a rebellion and a series of epic battles to save the planet. Sadly, fans will never get to see what will happen next from here.
